Minnesota Microphone

Check out the CityPages’ A-List this week, there might be a familiar byline there. I’ve been staking out and studying things over at the Blue Nile for months now, and City Pages contacted me and asked me to do an A-List for the Poets’ Groove at exactly the right time. Imagine this as a taste of a future MN Mic post, sometime soon, now that I’m back in Minnesota.

Also, though it’s not *exactly* spoken-word related, I think the crossover to hiphop is important and valid enough, that I want to take a moment to link to El Guante’s article about sexism in indie hiphop and his guidelines for how to dismantle that for a stronger community, and better music.
